School board outlines referendum outreach plan: signs, door hangers and info sessions

The La Crosse School District board on Aug. 5 reviewed outreach plans for the upcoming elementary referendum, including distribution logistics for printed materials and a schedule of community events to promote information sessions.
Board members said the district has yard signs, bookmarks, door hangers and flyers ready for distribution and that volunteers from buildings, school staff and board members would be encouraged to canvass neighborhoods after the school day rather than as paid time. “We have yard signs as well as bookmarks, door hangers and Flyers,” the Chair said while outlining materials that will be available to board members and staff.
Staff reported the referendum hub is live on the district website and that a QR code on printed materials will link residents to FAQs, timelines and session dates. The district plans open houses and community sessions starting at the end of August, with both in-person and virtual options, and will post dates on the website and e-mail them to board members.
