Quitman board tables sewer-adjustment policy to work session, sets CDBG hearing April 14

The Quitman Board of Aldermen voted April 7 to table a proposed change to the city’s water-and-sewer adjustment policy so members could review the current ordinance and provide guidance for drafting a new proposal.
At the meeting the chair said the board needed the existing ordinance text before finalizing changes and suggested a work session. "I think we need a copy of the current ordinance and just table this until we can get some ideas together," a member said. The board set a special work session for April 14, with an engineering-proposal opening at 9:00 a.m. and a CDBG public hearing at 9:45 a.m.; staff said East Central Planning and Development advised there should be public attendance for the grant hearing and asked the city to encourage residents to attend.
