The board heard a presentation from Clay Campbell of Campbell's Pavement Maintenance on crack sealing and pavement repair needs in town. Campbell identified a deep crack on Sunset near the waste-treatment driveway that appears to extend into the pavement base and recommended a full repair using approximately 4 inches of number threes, 2 inches of 53s, 4 inches of binder and 2 inches of surface to restore the base properly.
Campbell confirmed the previously approved figure on file of $6,800 for the work. He said he can accept card payments through Square but that processing would carry a roughly 3.3% fee; the board discussed whether to include that processing fee in the invoice or to issue payment via check to avoid the fee and flagged potential state board of accounts restrictions about paying individuals rather than businesses. The board agreed to check with the state board of accounts before finalizing the payment method and, if necessary, to add processing costs to an invoice code.
