Three student representatives welcomed to the board; students outline school activities

The La Crosse School District Board of Education introduced its three 2024–25 student representatives at the Oct. 7 meeting. Cassidy Burl, a senior at Central High School, said she is active in National Honor Society, debate and the GSA. Oliver olssen, a senior at La Crosse Polytechnic School, mentioned rehearsals and club activities, and Violet Nelson, a senior at Logan High School, described involvement in music and extracurriculars.
Board members welcomed the students and encouraged them to bring student perspectives to board discussions. Administrators and trustees asked the student representatives to help publicize linkage sessions to increase turnout. Cassidy Burl also noted she had recently participated in a public panel on safety and security issues at a press conference with the attorney general.
