Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips briefed council on a sinkhole affecting Municipal Lot #1 that damaged a 24" clay tile drainage line. Engineers and Insight consultant Bob Carpenter recommended replacing the tile within the sinkhole, reconnecting lateral pipes to the 24" line, installing a larger catch basin adjacent to the sinkhole and replacing roughly 10 feet of pipe.
Two contractor estimates were presented: Mansfield at $22,295 and McLallen Construction at $23,450; both bids required the borough to provide a truck. Councilor Steadman moved and Councilor Osborn seconded a motion to award the work to Mansfield for $22,295; council approved the motion unanimously.
