The Town of Ramseur Board voted to approve a special-use permit for a duplex on parcel ID 8702742114, a property in the RA-16 zoning district. Staff presented the application and told the board the planning board had recommended approval.
Derek May, who was sworn in to give testimony, identified himself as Alliance Code Enforcement staff and said the parcel met the required special-use criteria. "This is for a special use permit for a duplex," Derek said, and noted the planning board's prior approval and a staff recommendation to move forward.
During deliberation board members discussed setbacks and how the remainder of the lot might be used; the board then voted in favor of the permit. The board also read and adopted a formal consistency statement finding the proposal generally conforms with the town's land-development plan and that the permit would not materially endanger public health or safety.
The board closed the public hearing on this item and proceeded to other agenda matters. No audience member offered opposition during the hearing.
