Quitman accepts JCO Construction bid to clear lagoon scrap: 3¢/lb iron, 10¢/lb baled aluminum

The board accepted the bid to remove the material and clear the site, noting that some scrap yards had declined earlier because bales were tightly compacted.
Board members said they preferred clearing the site even at a low price rather than continuing to advertise indefinitely. The motion to accept the JCO Construction bid passed by voice vote and staff will coordinate removal logistics with the bidder.
