Prospective resident asks Shamrock Lakes board whether field falls under covenants, sewer access
Summary
A resident, Justin, asked the town board whether his planned 2,700-square-foot home on a field inside town limits would be subject to Crestwood covenants or Shamrock Lakes rules and whether sewer connection (possibly a lift station) is feasible; the board advised checking plats and consulting the sewer operator.

Justin, a lifelong Shamrock Lakes resident considering a return with his family of five, presented preliminary plans for a new 2,700-square-foot home and asked the town board whether the parcel would be governed by Crestwood subdivision covenants or by Shamrock Lakes town rules.
"I grew up in Shamrock Lakes. We moved here when I was 10 years old," Justin said, explaining he and his family hope to move back and asked how being inside the town limits would affect the building process. He described siting the house near a tree line and a driveway between 500 and 600 feet off Bankland Pike.
A board member responded, "From what I understand, that field is not part of Crestwood," and advised Justin to confirm parcel and covenant boundaries at the county recorder's office. Board members noted that if the lot is not in Crestwood it may fall under Shamrock Lakes covenants or the lake association's additional rules and dues.
The board discussed sewer routing behind Crestwood's dam as the likely connection path and cautioned Justin that a lift station could be required depending on slope. The board advised Justin to contact the town sewer operator for technical guidance; one speaker said, "Travis Williamson is who operates our sewer system for us," and offered to provide his number.
To proceed with a building permit, the board asked Justin to submit finalized plans in advance of county review so members can examine them at a meeting. A board member explained the administrative step: once the board approves plans, Diane, the clerk, will notify Ann Owen at the county, who handles building permits.
Next steps: Justin said he will review plats in plat book 31B, contact Travis Williamson about sewer feasibility, finalize plans with a builder, and return the packet to the board for review.
