Staff said the Earth Made Market application reported about 1,500 attendees last year and sought to reach 2,000 this year; the council authorized $1,500 to Grow Geneva for the event. The council also approved a grant for Kristen Holly LLC’s AutumnFest, an annual fall event the staff estimated drew more than 4,000 visitors last year.
Staff explained both events are intended to support local artists, encourage downtown visitation, and partner with local businesses. Both resolutions were supported by staff and recommended by the Planning and Zoning briefing materials; council approved both items by roll call (8–0, 2 absent).
