More than 70 volunteers and local emergency agencies took part in Aspen Airport drill

A staff member reported that more than 70 volunteers served as simulated casualties in the drill, which emulated a commercial aircraft accident. “We had, over 70 volunteers show up for us to emulate a commercial aircraft accident,” the staff member said, listing mutual aid partners who were on site.
Mutual aid partners named in the exercise included Pitkin County Sheriff's Office, Aspen Fire Department, Roaring Fork Fire District, Aspen Ambulance District and Carbondale Fire Department. Organizers said having partner agencies on site allowed responders to practice coordinated field response and logistics.
