The Geneva City Council approved the mayor’s appointment of John Harkness and Maxwell Schmitz to the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee during its July 20 meeting. The mayor moved the appointments and the motion was seconded; the council voted in favor by voice and the mayor congratulated the appointees.
The mayor noted the council had received both applicants’ materials and said the candidates were “wholeheartedly endorsed” by the committee that reviews nominations. The council did not take additional public comment on the appointments. The motion was carried and the mayor offered congratulations to Harkness and Schmitz.
