Town staff say historical records scanning project uncertain; online permitting nears go-live

Mark said the project was inherited from the prior planning director and that "I don't know" whether the estimate will hold; he explained the project would capture legacy letters, plans and permits that predate current digital workflows.
Separately, Mark updated the board on a multi-phase online permitting system. He said phase three is nearly complete and staff are in a sandbox environment testing the application flow; "once it's tested, we will go live," he said. The system will permit online submission of land-use applications and close the loop for planning, zoning, conservation and zoning board of appeals processes.
