During public comment, Darling (a Shore Road resident) thanked the board and said, “I just want to thank you all for voting for me for uh zoning board of appeals alternate. I love that job,” and expressed willingness to serve on shellfish and erosion committees. Members then debated how to correct the Shellfish Commission roster and terms, noting the ordinance calls for seven members and staggered four-year terms. The board amended the motion to set the term end to the first Monday in January (2029) to align with the ordinance schedule, then approved the appointment by voice vote.
Board members said they would coordinate with the town clerk and return with a full correction of the directory so future records match the ordinance. The board also noted that the legal review confirmed certain commissions are first-selectman appointments and discussed placing those appointments on the agenda under a single "appointments" section for transparency.
