On personal device policy, administration reported a clear theme: elementary stakeholders largely oppose personal devices during the school day; Middle schools are moving toward secured home‑room collection so phones are turned in and returned at dismissal; high school feedback was mixed with a preference toward teaching students to manage devices but also exploring voluntary phone‑free lunch initiatives. The SRO advisory and student groups also provided feedback: many students said schools felt safer at elementary levels because of smaller cohorts, while middle‑school students reported increased exposure to social media content that contributed to safety concerns. Administration also said vape‑related incidents increased in September but have declined since.
