Other board members countered that delegation of grading decisions to administration was intentional and that policy language could be clarified rather than abandoned. The amendment was seconded but failed on a voice vote. The board then approved the original motion to reaffirm GC‑1 and GC‑2; the transcript records at least one abstention.
