District reports K–3 proficiency snapshots: K math higher; reading tools change complicates comparisons

For kindergarten math (number recognition) staff reported approximately 83% proficiency in spring 2025; kindergarten reading moved to AimswebPlus this spring and recorded 64% proficiency for letter and sound recognition. For grades 1–3, i‑Ready results were reported: reading proficiencies of roughly 55.3% (grade 1), 61.8% (grade 2) and 60.8% (grade 3); math proficiencies using i‑Ready were lower in places (grade 1 ~48.4%, grade 2 ~51.9%, grade 3 ~43.5%).
Board members and administrators discussed cohort tracking, the limitations created by changing assessments, and the district’s plan to use normed tools across K–3 going forward to allow better longitudinal analysis. Administration said more cohort deep dives will be conducted at the district data retreat.
