Selectmen approve several reappointments, note resignation and swear in appointee

The reappointment of John Jamroga to the Waterford Shellfish Commission was read, amended for language consistency with ordinance term schedules, and approved by voice vote. The board also approved reappointments of John Hughes and Joseph Booths to the Harbor Management Commission.
The board appointed Eric (Ven Benudi) to the Recreation and Parks Commission to complete the remainder of the revised term so commission terms align with the ordinance schedule; staff indicated Eric will be sworn in promptly. A resignation from an alternate (Avery) on the Conservation Commission was noted and the board said it will seek a replacement when appropriate.
During the public comment period preceding appointments, Chief of Police Mark Bellastrassi presented the Chief's Recognition Award to First Selectman Robert Brule, praising Brule's support for the department and stating, "Your leadership has been instrumental in ensuring that we have the tools, training, resources necessary to effectively serve and protect the residents of Waterford." Members thanked the Chief and congratulated the First Selectman.
