The Board approved the town's proposed current-year capital improvement program (CIP) for fiscal 2027, which included major requests from fleet and public works.
Staff presented a $1,000,000 fleet-management line for FY27 and noted future increases to $1.5 million as departments plan replacements for fire apparatus and high-cost trucks. "We have actually met numerous times to create a long-term plan for funding some of larger ones that are coming up," Kim said. Public Works described a hydraulic engineering study for the Huntsbrook crossing—triggered by Ida flooding—as necessary to determine the right box-culvert replacement and to model downstream effects; engineers estimate the eventual replacement at roughly $3 million and said grant funding would be sought.
The board voted to adopt the CIP (total FY27 CIP presented as $3,699,490) and approved the transfer to capital non-recurring funds requested in the meeting. Members asked staff to pursue refinements, possible refurbishments to extend vehicle lives, and grant opportunities for large bridge work.
