Board adds $2,800 for Quaker Hill maintenance after members cite ADA and field needs

Selectman Greg proposed adding $2,800 to line 52420 (maintenance of property) to provide materials for Quaker Hill and the motion was seconded for discussion. Commissioners raised specific concerns: field material shortages, paint and preventative maintenance for bleachers and dugouts, ADA access to restrooms and a fractured volunteer base that had previously done much of the work.
After debate about whether the Recreation Commission should study the school property with the Board of Education, members voted in favor of the $2,800 increase by voice vote. The funding was described as flexible emergency materials money; Ryan said the commission will include Quaker Hill in its long-range capital considerations and return with a plan if larger capital work is needed.
