Scott Langerock, chair of the Harrisburg City Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board, heard a proposal to reintroduce a neighborhood ice rink and asked staff to investigate feasibility.
Chris Kuntz said a councilman had suggested bringing back an ice rink similar to the older rink near the Wizard Wash. Amanda Mack, representing Harrisburg City staff, told the board the city could “potentially establish a temporary ice rink next year” to test community interest. City staff members Toby Huizenga and Magenta Hammond were assigned to research construction options and cost estimates and will present their findings at the board’s February meeting.
