The manager updated the board on broadband work across town, saying multiple providers are installing fiber and other communications infrastructure simultaneously. Staff reported a surge in utility locate requests tied to the buildout and said the town has been actively deconflicting schedules to prevent repeat digs and damage to existing utilities.
"We are up to right now we've done aund well almost 200 locates in the last two weeks and we got 170 on that need to be done in the next four days," the Town Manager said, describing the operational burden. Staff warned residents about temporary service impacts (brush pickup delays, marked poles and trenching) and asked contractors to confirm arrival dates so the town can coordinate marking and inspection resources.
