Tucker County Schools Will Amend 10-Year CFP to Add Davis Thomas Asbestos Removal, Sprinkler and Interior Work

District staff asked the board to amend the Tucker County Schools 10-year Comprehensive Facility Plan (CFP) to include removal and replacement of asbestos floor tile and a sprinkler system at Davis Thomas, along with interior improvements (ceiling tiles, lights) and the gym roof. The staff member said the asbestos floor tile and the sprinkler were not previously on the CFP list and that the district intends to add them to the submission to maximize possible SBA funding.

The staff member said the district has been strategic about which schools and projects to submit and noted that two projects on the list had been moved up; the first five projects have been completed and the district is focusing on Davis Thomas. The staff member told the board that Williams and the estimator (referred to as "tror" in the transcript) will provide estimates by Friday so the district can include them with the submission. The board discussed scope and confirmed the intent to list the fire alarm system and clean-and-seal work along with the asbestos and sprinkler items to avoid ambiguity in SBA review.
