Superintendent briefed the board on mitigation steps for the Thomas water situation: a portable tanker placed at Davis-Thomas, a pallet of donated bottled water for students, disposal serviceware to avoid using dishwashers, and hand sanitizer in bathrooms. He said they are preparing both for school opening if the boil‑water advisory remains and for an earlier lift if water tests clear.
"We're still planning as if it's not though so we have plans in place," the superintendent said, adding that James and Kevin (operations staff) are hopeful the advisory will be lifted this week. He stressed the contingency planning was important because the advisory affects breakfast, lunch and food prep, and that the district will maintain safe food and hygiene practices until the advisory is officially resolved.
