Manager outlines upcoming hearings, events and signals borough support for PennDOT grant

Borough Manager Cindy Wells used the Aug. 27 meeting to summarize several upcoming events, public hearings and grants. She said an EMS meeting at Fort LeBoeuf is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 7:00 PM and highlighted Devereaux Day on Sept. 13 (11:00 AM'1:00 PM) to kickoff park and trail improvements on French Creek and promote the Erie-to-Pittsburgh trail head.
Wells also reminded council that a public hearing will be held for an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance and that the related hearing and a vote on a Parking Ordinance amendment will be advertised twice as required. She scheduled a health insurance presentation for council members on Sept. 25 at 5:30 PM and announced a free Community Emergency Response Team training Sept. 27'29 and the Erie County Firefighters Association Safety Awards Dinner hosted by UPMC Hamot on Sept. 27 at 6:00 PM.
On infrastructure grants, Wells said the borough is sending a Letter of Support for a PennDOT Charging & Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program application along the US Route 6 Corridor. Council was asked to attend or support several of the events and hearings; no formal vote was required to send the letter of support.
