Members approved sale of Bus 49 to Frankfort Independent Schools for $2,500 and approved donation of Bus 66 to the Anderson County Fire Department for use as a warming station and potential mobile command post. Staff explained Bus 66 had been declared ineligible for student transport in a prior state audit and is now suited for nontransport uses.
Separately, the board authorized purchase of a new maintenance truck not to exceed $50,000, with a quoted price around $43,800 from Bachman Chevrolet, to replace the vehicle used by the maintenance director. The purchase was recommended to avoid long lead times and because Bachman had vehicles available for immediate pickup. The board also approved a $9,345 purchase of middle‑school football uniforms and a tackling sled to be paid from an existing memorial fund at the middle school.
All motions passed by roll call with unanimous votes.
