The board accepted a $99,500 allocation to Anderson County Community Education for monthly parent education nights and family engagement supports; $14,300 to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department DARE program for quarterly public education; $32,500 to Anderson County Schools for student programming and vaping deterrence technology; $7,750 to the Lawrenceburg Police Department for prevention supplies and kits; and smaller awards to recovery organizations for materials and training.
Board members asked whether there were questions about grant dispersal and uses; staff responded with a description of eligible activities including childcare, meals, materials, after‑school enrichment, camp scholarships and recovery group packets for jails and detention centers. The motion to accept the grant distributions passed by unanimous roll call (5‑0).
