Anderson County to pursue EPA clean-bus rebates for up to three propane buses

Staff said the manufacturer can hold delivery until the 2025–26 school year and the district will place a purchase order now to secure rebate eligibility, with actual payments and delivery occurring after July 1, 2025.
Board members discussed existing propane buses in the fleet (staff said the district already operates five or six propane buses) and noted the $25,000-per-bus rebate could return up to $75,000 to the district if it purchases three buses next year. Trustees approved participating in the program and issuing the necessary purchase orders to reserve production slots.
