Superintendent highlights student achievements, AP successes and honors veterans

Superintendent opened the Nov. 11 meeting by thanking parents, staff and students for their support and recognizing several student and staff achievements. He announced Anderson County High School’s KMEA Class 4A state champions and noted the school’s FFA chapter and a national proficiency finalist, Tony Richie, would receive formal recognition at a later time.
The superintendent recognized AP English teachers whose students earned scores of 3–5 on AP exams and noted students received $100 per passed exam under the Advanced Kentucky grant. “Because they passed, they earned $100 per exam,” the superintendent said while listing dozens of students and asking teachers Jacqueline Hadex and Jessica Brumley to come forward. The board and audience also observed a Veterans Day program honoring district employees with military service; staff and students presented music and the board called several veterans forward for thanks and small tokens of appreciation.
