The Anderson County School Board completed a series of routine and substantive votes during its Aug. 12 regular meeting. Major approvals included adoption of the agenda, approval of July 15 minutes, the monthly financial report, Payment Summary No. 10 ($586,500), a $143,500 payment for the Saffle project (BG24‑295), multiple change orders, and the commissioning contract for $47,500. The board also approved the 2024–25 district assurances required by KDE (federal and state funding compliance), renewal of PowerSchool/TalentEd software, donations over $1,000, student trip requests and various surplus property dispositions.
Scott Brown moved many of the procedural and fiscal motions; Steve Carmichel seconded multiple items. On the tax rate motion, Brown moved "we go 4% with exoneration" and the motion carried unanimously. Roll‑call votes recorded Jason Collins, Scott Brown, Steve Carmichel, Sunny Fant and James Sergeant voting yes on the listed items unless otherwise noted in the packet. The meeting concluded after setting motor vehicle and utility tax maximums and an adjournment motion that passed on unanimous roll call.
