Akron awards $5,750 tree-removal and $1,600 asphalt repairs contracts

On that basis, Councilmember T. Nusz moved to contract Kappen for tree removal at $5,750; T. Tait seconded the motion and the council approved it unanimously.
Bills also presented asphalt repair quotes for N Main St. and the village hall front spot; the lowest combined bid was $1,600. A motion from T. Nusz to hire Miller Seal for $1,600 was seconded by M. Strasz and passed 5–0. The contracts were presented as maintenance to address safety and appearance concerns in public spaces.
