The Pocahontas County Board of Supervisors on July 14 approved a 28E Cooperative Agreement for the FY26 County Highway Bridge Program (CHBP) after County Engineer Tate Schmeling presented the project. The motion to approve the agreement was made by Supervisor Peter Seehusen and seconded by Supervisor Kyle Smith; the motion carried with all supervisors voting aye.
The board also passed Resolution 2026-07-#32 supporting the joint CHBP grant agreement and authorizing a letter of support for the GHBP grant project. The roll call vote recorded ayes from Seehusen, Siepker, Stauter, Smith and Aden and no nays. The resolution text is available on request at the Auditor’s office.
The actions clear the way for Pocahontas County’s participation in the FY26 bridge grant program; Engineer Tate Schmeling was the board's point of contact on the item and will follow up on implementation details.
