The Select Board opened a special hearing to receive public feedback on draft flood hazard area regulations and plan updates and introduced Kyle Catz of the Two Rivers Odichi Regional Commission to present the changes. The chair said the board would wait a short period for public attendance but no members of the public appeared to comment.
"With us today is Kyle Catz from Two Rivers Odichi um regional commission and we're here to discuss the draft ... flood hazard area regulations and the updates to this plan," the chair said in opening remarks. Kyle summarized the key revisions and how they relate to forthcoming FEMA mapping updates. He emphasized the draft preserves a prohibition on new residential construction in the mapped floodplain and carries requirements for elevating substantially improved or substantially damaged structures.
Board members reported they had previously reviewed the revisions at a special meeting and did not express substantive opposition to the changes. Kyle confirmed that after formal adoption the bylaw would take effect 21 days later, and the board said it would meet briefly the following day to consider moving toward adoption and to post the finalized document online and on file.
A motion to adjourn was made and seconded, and the board adjourned at 6:20 p.m. There were no public commenters in attendance during the hearing.
