Gemini will engage a pre-qualified FDOT-approved subcontractor to perform invasive or field inspection tasks as needed; Gemini will remain the city's principal engineer on the contract. Council moved to approve the purchase order; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The study will inform next steps, including countermeasures or full replacement if the evaluation determines the bridge is compromised. The work is intended to give the city the technical basis to plan any required capital work and to coordinate with FDOT if necessary.
