During discussion a member suggested adding a $50 application fee for tree removal requests to fund certified arborist reviews and potentially rotate contract arborists to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure expert assessment. A board member said an arborist could determine whether trees are dead, damaging sidewalks or otherwise hazardous and that a rotation of several arborists could avoid delays. Staff said the proposal would require ordinance language and the issue will be placed on a future agenda for formal consideration.
The Board approved the appointments by motion and second; no final fee ordinance was adopted at the meeting.
