The Board approved moving forward with drainage improvements and follow-up paving for a failing section of Middle Mitchell Road. Engineering and public works said the road is "caving in on both sides" and needs both drainage repair and subsequent paving; the cost of supplies discussed was $27,540.68 and much of the labor will be performed by Public Works.
Officials said the south end near the Enclave has seen doubled peak traffic causing deterioration and that the work will widen the west side by roughly a foot in places to improve roadway width and drainage. "This amount 20 27,000 is to the is to conduct drainage improvements," a staff member said during presentation. The board approved the motion to proceed and confirmed the expense will be paid from the streets and drainage budget.
