The Board approved a memorandum of agreement to proceed with widening Cleveland Avenue, confirming a funding package that includes $110,000 in federal monies and a city match of $877,000 from the Road and Bridge fund. Officials said the total project estimate discussed was about $2.988 million.
Mayor and staff described the work as intended to alleviate traffic north of the CSX line; the city match will come from previously approved Road and Bridge funds. "We are working on roads," a board member said during discussion, and the motion carried after a roll call/voice vote.
Staff said the project will be funded in part by Gulf Regional monies and clarified the city match and project scope will be managed through engineering and public works. The Board approved the MOA to move the project forward.
