He described the total project cost as roughly $1,400,000 and said the FEMA grant is a 90/10 match, leaving the town responsible for about $139,000.
Ryan said the contractors aim to complete work before the regulatory cutoff for stream work (October 1). Board members asked Ryan to confirm whether FEMA will accept the project without certain easements and to coordinate with the town attorney; Ryan reported he would contact Bill Doyle, FEMA's Vermont projects contact, and Jim Tonkovich, the state's FEMA liaison, to verify legal and easement requirements.
Board members did not take formal action at the meeting but directed staff to proceed with permitting coordination and to bring contract/bid results back for approval once bids are received.
