Council approves purchase of recycling carts; DPW to coordinate distribution

DPW staff explained the carts will be distributed to residents through a public giveaway and that the acquisition is funded by a recycling grant.
Councilmembers raised distribution logistics and asked the director to allocate some carts to council offices for constituent distribution. "We get a lot of calls from our residents that are in need of recycling cans," Council President Mims said, asking DPW to set aside an allotment for councilmembers to distribute in their wards.
The resolution passed unanimously with council requesting a distribution plan and schedule from DPW.
