Union City Borough authorized staff to submit an application to Erie County seeking up to $100,000 in CDBG funds to pay for a portion of stormwater repairs in Municipal Lot #1. The motion to apply, moved by Councilor Steadman and seconded by Councilor Osborn, carried unanimously by the four councilors present.
Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips reported he and Borough Manager Cindy Wells met with Solicitor Tim Wachter about sinkholes in Municipal Lot #1. Minutes record that Mansfield will "fill the sink hole and replace approximately 10’ of pipe and install the new catch basin," and that smoke and dye testing will be performed after the repair work; the borough is waiting on paving quotes from JT Patching and Paving and Cross Paving. The council also noted business owners and the Union City Volunteer Fire Department will be notified once smoke testing is scheduled.
