Parker parks staff reported steady progress on a new basketball court, with crews expected to pour concrete within a week and a target to have the court playable by the end of July. Staff said APS is contributing the majority of funding for the project and asked to be involved in any ceremonial opening.
Commissioners suggested holding a ribbon-cutting or a back-to-school–timed grand opening and agreed to add the event to a future agenda in August so APS can coordinate a sign and select dates. Staff also reported ordering dog-waste dispensers and other routine park maintenance items as part of summer operations. "The goal there is to hopefully have it completed by the end of July," staff said when outlining the schedule.
