26Health to bring mobile STI testing, mammography and mental-health services to Pine Hills

At the meeting, a 26Health representative (Michelle Mangum) outlined a plan to station a mobile health unit in Pine Hills to provide primary medical care and STI testing. "26Health provides education on STIs and has a mobile unit to provide primary medical services and STI testing," Mangum said, noting the mobile unit will include a mental-health component and an identified space in the neighborhood.
Mangum said Pine Hills has a high rate of STI and HIV diagnoses and that mammography services will begin in January in a gender-neutral space. She described partnerships with Lyft and Uber to assist patient transportation, and said 26Health expects to hire locally, working with area schools and human-resources pipelines to fill positions. The NID did not take formal action; the presentation was informational.
