Jim Wolf, director of information services, told the board "Apple notified district administration earlier today of an immediate non-negotiable manufacturer price increase" and said the total purchase price rose 1.9%, to $517,950, under terms of the district’s master agreement. The chair moved to rescind the earlier motion, a motion to rescind was made and seconded, and the board carried the rescission by roll call. The board then approved a new motion to purchase the iPad refresh at the $517,950 price and authorized district administration to execute related documents.
Administrators characterized the devices as essential to supporting instruction; trustees asked clarifying questions before voting. The board’s approval allows procurement staff to complete the purchase at the revised price.
