Resident raises pothole/app failures; commissioners press staff on signage, intersections and maintenance
Summary
A resident told the commission her app reports fail when she submits pothole requests; staff will follow up. Commissioners raised multiple maintenance concerns — intersections with recurring crashes, damaged sidewalks and a missing grate — and staff said work orders and follow ups are in process.

A resident, Heidi Romero, told the commission she repeatedly could not submit a pothole report through the city's service app and asked staff to take the location offline for repair.
"I just wanted to share that with you because... I take the picture, submit it, but it's unsuccessful," Romero said, giving a specific address for the pothole. Staff asked for the precise location and committed to route the request to field crews and to submit an IT ticket to fix the app.
Commissioners used the public‑comment period and staff reports to press for follow up on a range of maintenance items: a hazardous sidewalk hole near 603 East 220th Street, loose metal plates in a sidewalk segment tied to fiber‑optic work, recurring crashes at Dominguez/Chico and Santa Fe/Del Amo, and a missing grate on Susana Road. Staff said work orders have been generated for signage and that crews will inspect and prioritize repairs. The commission thanked staff for recent paving and said it expects follow up at the next meeting.
