Council approves $489.44 property-tax refund to CoreLogic

Town staff said Forsyth County notified the town that a business — identified as CoreLogic Real Estate Tax Service (post office in Coppell, Texas) — successfully appealed its assessed value to the Forsyth County Board of Equalization and Review. Because the taxpayer had already paid the full tax bill, the county and the town must each refund their portions of the overpayment.
Town Manager Homer Bierman told the council the town’s portion of the refund is $489.44 and recommended adopting Resolution R‑902 to mirror the county’s action. Mayor Pro Tem Horn moved to adopt R‑902 and Councilman Lane seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Staff said these refund notices are rare and typically appear only in reappraisal years.
