Superintendent outlines plan to grow endowment and updates on Middle School and track projects

"The WKCF requires a balance of $10,000 to continue the fund. I believe we're at around 3,500 right now," the superintendent said, describing plans to grow the endowment and later add a special project fund.
On facilities, the superintendent reported Middle School subfloors are complete, flooring is being acclimated and is expected to be sealed and painted with a hoped-for finish in the first week of August; cafeteria carpet work is done. He provided a timeline for the track replacement project, saying tear-out will begin late July and a contractor is expected on site by Aug. 14 with a project manager's assurance that work will be finished by Sept. 7, though he expressed skepticism about that deadline.
The superintendent closed by saying the above updates and planned fundraising are part of ongoing efforts to support students and staff; no board action was requested on the endowment beyond information and future fundraising work.
