Finance staff presented the warrants and an end-of-year financial overview, noting several large encumbrances that were paid this month and a lower cash balance than in previous years due to capital outlay.
"So the torn total warrants finish out the year $457,744 and $50.49 cents," the finance staff said while reviewing vendor items and totals. The board moved and approved the warrant for the period ending June 30 in the amount of $457,744.49.
Staff highlighted major payments carried into the new year, including property insurance ($325,418.76), approved desktop and monitor purchases ($93,556.93), and workers' compensation insurance ($66,974). The finance presentation also noted a roughly $590,000 cash balance after capital projects and a decline in student numbers that affected revenues.
The board also approved a second set of warrants for the new year totaling $639,049.59; the superintendent and clerk confirmed these included expenses encumbered at the end of the prior fiscal year. Both motions carried on voice votes.
