Baxter Springs council approves agenda, minutes and routine appointments

The Baxter Springs City Council unanimously approved the meeting agenda and several routine items at its Jan. 14, 2025 meeting, including Appropriation #3586 and a series of previously held-meeting minutes. Council members present at the start included Schroedle, Williams, Shaw and Chriestenson; Younger and Rolland joined by phone.
The council approved minutes for Nov. 26 and Dec. 10 (each with one abstention recorded), and later approved the Dec. 23 minutes after Council member Susan Jones joined the meeting. On a separate motion the council approved the mayor’s appointment of Doug Hill to the zoning committee. The council also voted to purchase five City of Baxter Springs signs using transient guest tax revenue and authorized public works to oversee the city’s Christmas Parade.
