City Clerk Alice Grimm presented a proposal from Advantage for new software and related services and said the vendor representative had offered to visit Madison to identify where to start. "If the council would like to move forward that he would be able to come down and look at where to start," Alice told the council.
Council members discussed implementation priorities — a prepaid contract, a firewall upgrade, website and email conversion and offsite backup — and Chair Paul Dean asked the clerk to pull the budget for the next meeting. Councilmember Evan Casey moved to approve the $5,000 prepaid contract; Daryl May seconded and the motion carried 3-0. The clerk was assigned follow-up tasks to report back with budget details at the next meeting.
