The Baxter Springs Mayor and Council approved a package of routine motions at their Feb. 25 meeting, including Appropriation Ordinance No. 3589 and several personnel and procurement actions. Council member Shaw moved to approve Appropriation Ord. #3589, seconded by Council member Schroedle; all council members present voted Yes.
Council members also approved hires and licenses recorded in the minutes. Council member Younger moved, seconded by Council member Brumback, to hire Cody Biddle in the water department at $16.00 per hour; the motion passed. Council member Turner moved, seconded by Council member Schroedle, to hire Randy Simons in the street department at $16.00 per hour; the motion passed. The council approved a liquor license for Cowtown Liquor (motion by Council member Brumback, seconded by Council member Turner) and donated $250.00 to the Baxter Springs After Prom Party (motion by Council member Shaw, seconded by Council member Brumback). The meeting adjourned after a final unanimous motion by Council member Brumback, seconded by Council member Schroedle.
