City Council Adopts Fair Housing Proclamation as CDBG Activity

The Belle Plaine City Council adopted a Fair Housing proclamation during its March 18 meeting to satisfy the city’s obligation under the Community Development Block Grant program. Rose Mary, representing the city’s CDBG contact, told the council that participation in a Fair Housing activity is required by the grant agreement; Mayor Greg Harlan read and signed the proclamation.
City Clerk Stephanie McGinnis will post the proclamation on the city website and Facebook. Council did not take additional policy action beyond signing the proclamation; no vote tally was required for this item, which was handled as an informational item with formal reading and signature.
